Rules of the site

There are many young families who choose to attend the course and also choose to camp at the WCC site. This is one of many reasons why the Wessex Camping Committee impose (sensible) rules:

Everyone is bound by the Campsite Rules which will be strictly enforced.

You must pay before pitching and keep within your designated area.

There is a 5mph speed limit whilst on the campsite.

Always drive on the roadways marked and not across the sports pitches.

No unlicensed or learner drivers are permitted to drive on the site.

All tents/caravans must be at least 1 car width apart and pitched in straight lines.

Guy ropes must not overlap.

A bucket of water must be placed outside every unit.

No open fires are allowed.

Barbecues must be raised off the grass, and need to be disposed of, after dousing, on the following day, when cold.

Do not tamper or play with any of the fire equipment or the water hoses.

No Chinese lanterns are to be let off.

Dogs should be on leads at all times and owners must clean up after them on any part of the site

Please show consideration to other campers and keep noise to a minimum, especially between midnight and 6 am.

The school have stipulated that it is a NO SMOKING site and fines will be issued by the school up to £2000 to anyone found smoking within the school boundary. Sand buckets will be provided at the entrances to the site.

Failure to abide by the above rules will result in a warning being issued, and the possibility of eviction if the case is considered serious.   No refund of fees will be offered in the case of eviction from the site.

Facilities are provided for members of the Wessex Course, their families and other campers, and should be respected.

Wessex Campsite Committee accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to any person, personal or private property whilst camping at the Sturminster field.

You are encouraged to be vigilant with the security of your instruments and valuables.

 

Services

On the site you will find:

 

Toilets and a chemical toilet holding tank for your use. These will be emptied and cleaned on Monday, Wednesday & Friday.

A skip for your household rubbish. Re-cycling bins for cans, bottles and glass. Please help us to keep the field clean and tidy.

Fire extinguishers are available from designated committee members on the field.

Signs and notification of the location of these will be displayed as appropriate.

There are NO electrical hook ups on Site
